It was really foggy when we walked to the tram this morning. You couldn't even see more than half a mile down the road. It was really easy to find our train to Venice at the station, we just had to wait a bit for the platform number to be displayed.
When we got to Venice we went straight to our hotel to drop off our bags. It's the closest we have ever stayed to a main train station. Directions from the Internet said it was only fifty meters.
We walked around a lot today, but that's all you can do in Venice other than ride a gondola boat. There are no cars or bikes anywhere. I did not expect the city to look this way. There are a lot of really narrow streets and there is no real order to them. We did get lost a couple of times, but eventually we were able to fin where we were on the map.
I had pizza for lunch and pasta for dinner which is exactly what you need to do in Italy. They were both really good. After dinner we found a gelato place for some very delicious dessert.
